Kira Kira
Kira Kira ( キラ☆キラ ) is a hentai game that deals with lives of high schoolers. The game's pace starts out slowly but it fires up later. There is an adult novel in Japan that goes by the same title, but plots are completely different.

The game's overall setting is quite similar to this game I've reviewed:
http://www.janimes.c...re-white-wings/
However, the game's length is much longer and its depth in character developments and relationships are much deeper. Overall, Kira Kira is a much better game.

You view the game through the main protagonist's eyes. His name is Maejima Chikanosuke, and he is a senior in a high school.

The game starts by introducing you a heavy rock band. Maejima is apparently watching the band from a shadowed corner in a live house. As he listens to a popular rock band, called STAR GENERATION, he finds ironic that the band and their song were complete opposite of himself who is shy, passive, and pessimistic...

Episode One

The scene changes and he is in his room. It is morning and Maejima is waiting for a female classmate to arrive at home. He has had a big crush on her for quite some time, but she is transferring to another school today. Maejima feels that it is time to propose to her before it is too late.
However, since he is shy, passive, and pessimistic, it doesn't work out and he couldn't even propose to her and eventually sees her leave.
His love ended like that even before it could start.

The scene changes again, and Maejima is going to a pub where he works as a part-time worker. There is a new part-time worker today. In fact, it turns out that she goes to the same school and even the same school club. They both belong to a 2nd literary club. Her name is Kirari (Kirari Shiino). After work, they leave together.
Kirari tells Maejima that the club is having a hard time deciding what to do for upcoming school festival. Maejima has never attended to his club activities. He joined the club only because he had to. Therefore, he had no idea that his club was planning to host an event. Furthermore, Kirari informs Maejima that the club is going to be merged with the original literary club next year.

In other words, whatever event they will host for this year's school festival is going to be the last event for the club. Kirari, not wanting her club to be forgotten easily, plans to host an event that everyone will remember.
Maejima eventually agrees to participate for the first time for the club activity. He didn't have any compelling reason to do so, but he felt like he should.

Days pass, and Kirari returns a pair of tickets to a live house to Maejima, saying that her friend who was supposed to go with her bailed out and that she has no one else to go with.
Maejima volunteers to go with her and goes to the live house after school. You see a familiar scene. It is the scene you saw when you start the game.
Yes, you are right back at where it was cut off in the beginning. And this time, there are more details. Maejima who has always been passive, shy, and pessimistic felt Passion from STAR GENERATION's heavy rock music. It was something he has never felt, and therefore, he is confused by this new sensation.

Kirari is in awe as well. She is presently shocked how good they were and says, "It was like everyone else was asleep!"

On their way back home, on a train, Kirari suggests, "How about forming a band for the school festival?"

Maejima doubts that he will ever reach the level of STAR GENERATION. Still, he agrees to go for it.

Preparations begin.Isurugi Chie, the club president, agrees that it could be very catchy but she also worries that none of the club members had first-hand experience in rock music. Regardless, they start to learn.

To become all-girl band, Maejima is forced to cross-dress and plays bass-guitar. Kirari becomes the vocal. Isuragi becomes a drummer. Sarina Kashiwara becomes the band's guitarist.

Festival comes, and the band has a blast and is very successful although they are given a warning from a school staff after playing.

Episode Two: Road to Ruin ?

After having a successful live concert, they are convinced that they should continue. STAR GENERATION band is helping them in addition.

Meanwhile, Maejima receives a bouquet, apparently from - a guy -.

Anyway, they decide to go on a national tour to spread their music. Isurugi is against the idea, stating that they are seniors (University entrance exam) and the tour will be dangerous. But the vocal from STAR GENERATION agrees that it will be dangerous and tough but say that's what makes going on a tour worthwhile.

They rent a car and goes on a tour...

This is as much as I am going to tell you.

My impression about this game.

The plot is very ordinary, but its presentation is very well done. BGM is well done also. Expect 10ish hours to finish this game, the plot is very long.

Maejima can end up with one of the three girls from the band.
