With my first TV program translation work done, I got a hang of how it is done. While I understand that the first translation work doesn't exactly sync well, it's only because there were so much narrations one after another.
The first project I picked just so happened to be the hardest one I could hope for. Any other projects I will choose cannot possibly be harder than what I did.

So, here comes the subject of this post.
I am a Korean. I watch mostly Japanese TV and sometimes Korean TV shows ( I do not favor Korean drama for being too dark). Therefore, I do not keep track of which drama has been translated in the foreign world.

Not wanting to work on something that is already being worked by someone else, which Korean drama do you want me to translate ?

I will not accept Japanese drama at this time. I need to see how efficient I could become before moving onto translating a foreign language.

um....there is something i ve been wanting to say....actually, i am not sure if it is really a good idea for you to start translating asian dramas...( please don't get mad..i am just expressing my honest opinions here ^____^; ) I mean, i love watching asian dramas, but as far as i know, most of the good and popular asian dramas(particualy the japanese and Korean ones) are being translated by other sub groups, so it is really hard for you to find one that is not taken by other sub groups..(well, i am sure there are some unpopular and old ones out there, but if the point of you translating dramas is to bring traffic to this site then...


Anyway, i will support whatever decisions you make

Thatsounds fun. I actually don’t really watch Korean dramas, so I couldn’t give anysuggestions. However, if you ever want to move onto any Chinese period/guda/wuxiadramas I would enthusiastically offer translating help (since I kind of feel like the good Chinese television has been marginalized due to really annoying Taiwanese remakes of Japanese dramas).

Anyway, good luck, I look forward to whatever project you choose to do.

When you say "chinese teleision", you are referring to China(not Hong Kong or Taiwanese) dramas, right? and well, I don't really think this is the reason then.... most of the taiwanese dramas are based on the japanese Mangas and not dramas...and many of them actually become quite popular (like hana kimi, the rose, devil beside you , boy over flower etc) and the fact is Taiwanese dramas are much more popular than chinese(china) dramas, and most of the asian drama fans know that taiwanese drama and chinese dramas are different, and generally put them into different categories so i really don't think the "annoying taiwanese" dramas are the reason for chinese dramas to be unpopular...

I personally don't really like chinese dramas and i know there are many others don't as well...chinese dramas are way too long and dragy for my liking...

Hm, you see I'm not much of a fan of Hana Kimi (even if Ella was in it) and Devil Beside You esque dramas. I kind of feel like they're fluffy and overplayed. And yes, by Chinese I mean from China now Taiwan. Generally I'm referencing more Guda, period films.

But yeah, I agree with Dream Zero in that doing something more less mainstream would be more interesting.

Actually I thought that the TV program you subbed was quite interesting and unusual so I did like it. It's good to see something else than the common dramas we can see and donwload via d-addicts. So I would rather prefer you pick something for us so we can discover new stuff !

Unfortunately, the TV program I translated is way too time consuming. If you've watched it, you will notice that it's all about narration. It is basically 25 minute of talking the whole time.

It's just too much work.

Only current airing Dramas or older ones, too? Because it´s hard to find something new what´s not on viikii, but eventually there is something older (a few years) what nobody had subbed yet.

Frankly as someone already stated all the good ones, popular ones are already available subbed either on youtube or somewhere else.

Personnally if i had to ask for something (selfishly) to be translated in korean it would be this movie

Hong Lim, the commander of Kunryongwe, captivates the King of Goryeo, and the Queen keeps her eyes on the relationship between Hong Lim and the King with a reluctant view. Meanwhile, the bilateral relation between Goryeo and the Yuan gets worse as Yuan demands to install the cousin of the King in the Crown Prince of Goryeo with ascribing it to no son the King has.

The King refuses it resolutely, so the high-ranking officials of Goryeo, who are in submission to Yuan, are discontented with the king. One day, the King gives Hong Lim a covert yet unobjectionable order to sleep with the Queen instead of himself to protect the independence of Goryeo from the Yuan by making a son, the successor to Goryeo throne.

It'd better if you could just give me Korean titles and Korean actor names. Korean names don't translate well into English unlike Japanese names.

Are you thinking on doing just dramas now? Because... there are many places out there subbing them and, in my very personal opinion, I think many people would be more interested in TV shows or mini-documentaries that approach some themes of (real) Korean culture instead of soap operas...

I'm trying to think of some Korean dramas that have yet to be subbed, but it's kind of difficult at the moment. Do you have any restrictions or preferences to Korean dramas, so that we can narrow down the choices?
One drama that comes to my mind is Unstoppable High Kick because I've read so many positive reviews on it. However, I don't think you'll be interested because there's too many episodes.

@ Dream Zero: Both of the dramas that you suggested have already been subbed. I watched them a long time ago, so I don't remember who subbed them. I think the subtitles can still be found in d-addicts forum.

At this point, I am looking at mostly show programs. Simply put, by choosing to subtitle a drama, I will be committing to complete it.

That would be fine if I didn't have manga/manwha scanlations. As it stands now, I have too many commitments.

Having said that, I am looking into a show program called "네마음을보여줘". Check if that specific show program has been subtitled.

네마음을보여줘 should translate as Show me your mind.

While I do not have restrictions, bear in mind that I am in late 30s now and some Korean TV drama are too childish for my taste.

When you mention "Unstoppable High Kick", I suppose you mean 지붕뚫고 하이킥. I thought someone would have subtitled it by now since it's aired in prime hours.
