I just changed my avatar from a fairly simple one to this kind of complicated one. I will put up my signature later and edit this when I have more time. Otherwise, what does everybody think about it? Attached below is my former avatar, for a comparison.

Edit: Okay, added my signature.

Changed to a new theme. I chose something with memories. I'm listening to Paralyzed by Finer Eleven repeatedly, and for some reason I thought of it. I meant to make a rose theme, but this came out instead.

The point of this theme is, as I said, about memories, but also the fading of life and time. People usually say "passage of time," but time in a way fades from each person, slipping out of each person's grasp. It is a sad thing, which is what the faded, old-paper-looking flower represents. The black and white background is liked cracked glass, but also the fractures of glass (of life, if one wants to think as far as that).

I hope it is well-received!

My former theme is a sakura one, meant to emphasize nostalgia.

Elegant, but a bit busy. The only problem I have is the text... it is hard to read against the background.

Agreed with text being hard to be read. Avatar is okay, but the signature image is just too "busy".

I find the text easy to read. DZ also likes complex busy signatures as it emphasizes thought and creativity.

Considering you're the first person in a long time to really really get into sig ava creations I'd saa way to go homey.

As for the busy part, I was varying between fading out the dark lines, but decided to keep it. I suppose I was adding too much meaning that no casual observer would notice, so I won't explain it here. Now that you, Sura and Nyx, addressed it, I realize my mistake. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks so much!

I was having problems, too, about it. I tried to choose a darker color, but I still wanted to keep it in line that memories were fading, and using darker or bolder colors didn't seem to fit the situation. Thanks anyway, and I'll also keep that in mind.

to DZ:
Thanks. I typically do ava/sig combinations to waste time distract myself when I have a blank mind during homework or studying. BTW, I never said this before, but I do love your Zero themes.

All in all, thank you, everyone, for your feedback.

Appreciate that. I'm glad you recognize the dual layer symbology.

It reminds me of withering leaves in autumn...technically it's good...
I hope spring with all the happy colors comes next. ;)

Name: Amethyst
Was going to do a red and orange theme, but linnyu convinced me to do something with purple. Those are water-lilies, and that is a pupil. And yes, there is a water-lily in the pupil (of the avatar).

The truth is, I forgot what I was going to do with this theme (actually, my plan was thwarted), so I made up something random. The eye was supposed to be in there, but not like that. The water lilies were something I added in because it would look too empty, otherwise, and I wanted to make something without text. I did think of adding "SilverStone" to it, but meh, how would it fit? I believed it would look awkward. Consequently, this theme has no purpose whatsoever but to blow off steam and time, 'cause my rice is very cold now. And cold/reheated rice doesn't taste as good. T-T

This new theme is rather late, but I've been busy. Really. So this is a filler theme until I can get the time to make an appropriate lighter them for the upcoming season.

Btw, isn't indigo more violet than blue? I'm a little confused~

(And if indigo really is more blue than violet, then I'll be doing something different next time, probably like Futurama or something.)

If you want to see my old themes, they will most likely be in my gallery.

Avatar is showing up properly. Thankees to Lui!

Seems like the happy colors I "demanded" last time come one by one. This time it's purple. :p

Very inspirational. I like it. Considered playing around with borders or round and fading egdes next time?

That problem with your avatar was probably a cache issue of your browser. It preferred to reuse the copy in your cache to not waste the few kb on the updated one. Hitting the reload button twice before the page is completely loaded could force a full reload by telling to ignoring the cache or it could send a signal to some space aliens to make some doodles in a cornfield.

Very pretty, I like it. Posted Image I also feel mildly influential now. XD

Although I agree with Liu on fading out borders, but I think overall it's very cool and eye catching.

I like. And offhand I think indigo it's a reddish purple...? Can't recall my color wheel so accurately anymore.
Hey, if you look at it from far away the eyes come together and look like their focusing on something; pretty neat!(& slightly creepy, which is double neat)

Hmm, theme making is coming back. I'd like to keep up and make new ones... But I'm totally sans computer or internet(barring work) at the moment. What a no good situation. Good to see some creativity coming back here though! We used to have artists and theme makers running rampart; now it’s just depressed old people…(or is that just me?)

Fading out borders? I never thought of that. I did think that the edges were too abrupt, but at the time couldn't think of a solution to fix that problem. I'll try it next time. (My beef is that I dislike borders, but fading them is a good idea, 'cause the borders do disappear...Ooh)

Well, I'm actually an amateur at theme-making, and while I have had Photoshop for quite a few years, I've only recently begun to make full use of it. When I draw, I prefer to draw people and portraits, but when I do themes, I prefer to use landscapes and scenery, the natural world.

I'm going to try to catch a picture of the snow that will supposedly fall tomorrow, and fiddle around with that.

Lui, you will get your bright colors little by little? :ow:

Have added something new. Making sigs is tiring, especially when I don't have as much free time as I used to. I'm forced to pull extra hours. Why am I so nice???!!

So this is just called whatever the flower is called. I don't remember. Bright colors, because I was getting tired of (and a little freaked out) with the mystical purple that surrounded my previous theme.

And if people didn't realize, most of my (older) themes can be found in my gallery.

This bright orange flower may get its own sig, someday.

I pulled this out from nowhere to get rid of the freaky purple, since it was scaring me, as I mentioned before.

A preview? Well, maybe. I never thought of expanding this, and don't know if I still have the files for it. This is a little old, that's why. I'll hunt around and see if I have the directory June09; I may have deleted it.

If I do, I'll be sure to update this. I realized I have some extra time next week. Mayhap this will get a full theme.

^We'll be expecting it. You have a title now as an excellent Themer; it's a lot to live up to.

I agree with pon. Some long time ago this place was full of different themes. So...With your (previous) themes you kind of raised hope in me to see such times once again.
